Teflon Tube and Hoses
You can count on teflon tube and hoses to be reliable and dependable. The Teflon® fluoroplastic coatings, resins, additives, and films we supply are created to outlast all competitors with their exceptional resistance to high temperatures, chemical reaction, corrosion, and stress cracking.
We also make available hoses made with a core of Teflon polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The properties of Teflon® make it the preferred solution for a host of industrial applications and different processing techniques.
Teflon tube and hoses are used in everything from the aerospace program to the hot rod fuel-hose market to the self-contained breathing apparatus firefighters depend on to keep them safe.
Our customers often share the same concern regarding Teflon® tubes and hoses, “Why do they cost so much?”
Though the upfront price of Teflon tube and hoses is higher than an average rubber tube, when measured out over time the cost is actually cheaper. To help you understand the true cost of a Teflon tube, consider this simple example:
In almost all cases, a hose made with Teflon will outlast an ordinary rubber or thermoplastic hose under virtually any operating condition. When that ordinary hose goes down, you have to evaluate the cost of your down time for a hose change and what the loss of production cost is. What is the cost of hose failure?
Less replacement parts + less downtime = less cost.
While Teflon tube and hoses are not the answer for every application, they can deliver lower lifecycle costs than rubber or thermoplastic hoses.
One of the largest growth areas for fluoropolymers is in corrosion protection. Fluoropolymer tubing can handle virtually any corrosive chemical or solvent in use today, with few exceptions.
If you thought Teflon® tube and hoses were too expensive, it’s time to take a second look!
