O-RING AND VACUUM FITTINGS
O-ring Style O-ring fittings are designed for rapid and repeat connect/disconnect applications. Features include zero clearance needed for make-up. The fitting style requires only minimal torque to seat and performs superbly in medium and high-pressure services. 0-ring fittings prevent torquing of hose during hook-up. A number of manufacturers offer 0-ring style connections. Please compare thread sizes of Style 33 fittings before attempting interchange. Temperature ratings of O-ring assemblies are dependent upon 0-ring gasket material temperature ratings. Illustration 1.2 - Vacuum Female Illustration 1.3 - Vacuum Male Vacuum Style Style 34 and Style 35 vacuum fittings allow a "no-adapter" connection with fluoropolymer inner core hose. Vacuum style fittings require no axial clearance for assembly/disassembly. Sealing surfaces are mirror finish and threads are plated to prevent gauling and allow repeated connections. Consult applicable hose specification tables for vacuum ratings by exact size. Fluoropolymer hose is suitable for liquid and 'industrial' vacuum fluoropolymer tubing exhibits some permeation and absorption with many gases. This characteristic must he considered in full vacuum applications. |
