S-CON MD tubing surface properties resist sticking and encrustation, and will not support bacteria growth. The tubing is soft, pliable, and contains no plaslicizers which could leach out. causing f low contamination or tube hardening.
Radiopaque tubing can be supplied with the Barium Sulfate opaquing agent, either fully dispersed throughout the tubing, co-extruded as striping on the outer surface, or fully encapsulated within the wall.
Peroxide-cured S-CON MD tubing is supplied in individual, non-sterile, heat-sealed poly-bags and should be sterilized prior to use.
If tubing is exposed to repeated steam sterilization or long-term high temperature or pressure, silicone will eventually relax, become gummy, and should be replaced.
Note: S-CON MD is not recommended for implant or in-body uses. Care is recommended in the selection and application of Fittings and clamps. Sharp, barbed fittings or unlined metal clamps could tear into the tubing wall. |
